The Quiet Snow;

I began this series to illustrate 'The Quiet Snow' a movement from the 1958 'Scandinavian Suite #1', by Gene DiNovi, and then continued the series over the past winter after a trip out to the edge of the frozen Hangdog Reef. Georgian Bay was frozen over as far as I could see and there was only the white silence and the sound of wind.
 
Amsterdam Canals;

A series of canal scenes of houses and bridges in the area around the Prinsengracht Canal.

A selection of new pastels and oils of Georgian Bay and Italy.

A Canadian Artist

Alan is a painter and a printmaker, concentrating on pastels and charcoal on paper, limited edition books, with his own illustrations in wood engraving or stone lithography.

Much of his work has been influenced by summers spent on Georgian Bay at Bayfield Inlet, and his travels overseas.

OSA - Archives of Ontario Art Exhibition
Alan's artwork "Opening Night, Parry Sound" will be one of 37 paintings in the exhibition "Gifted; Donations from the Ontario Society of Artists", This significant donation serves to re-establish the ties between the government of Ontario Art Collection and the Society. Opening; April 26, 2012 at the Helen McClung Exhibition Area, Archives of Ontario, 134 Ian Macdonald Blvd, York University.

Retrospective Exhibition
Alan will be one of over 50 artists represented in the International Art Symposium Retrospective Exhibition 2006 - 2011, in Veradice, Czech Republic, January - February 2012

Alan is featured in an eight page spread as an 'Artist to Collect' in the the Fall 2011 issue of Arabella: Canadian Art, Architecture and Design.
