A series of new pastels exploring the outer islands.
The colour and texture of rocks, lichen and water, night skies, stars, meteor showers and northern lights.

Petrushka

A series of 20 watercolour and acrylic paintings depicting key scenes from the ballet Petrushka by Stravinsky.

A Canadian Artist


Alan is a painter and a printmaker, concentrating on pastels and charcoal on paper, limited edition books, with his own illustrations in wood engraving or stone lithography.

Much of his work has been influenced by summers spent on Georgian Bay at Bayfield Inlet, and his travels overseas.

Ex Libris exhibtion
A selection of Alan's hand-printed letterpress books including his newest book "The Golden Lilies" by PK Page have been selected for this curated group exhibition. MacLaren Arts Centre, Barrie Ontario. Reception September 17th, 2009, 7 - 9 pm. show continues through November 1, 2009

Book Launch
Alan will launch his new letterpress book, "The Golden Lilies" by PK Page, at the dedication of the Page Irwin Colloquium Room at Trent University Saturday May 2, 2009, 2pm. The book of eight new poems by Page, is designed and hand-printed by Alan at his Church Street Press, in Parry Sound, and includes 10 of his wood engravings. Impressions of the Massasauga Provincial Park
Opening reception, Saturday July 16, 2008 4-6 pm. Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, Parry Sound. Once a year a group of Ontario artists tour the park in visual study.
